BC CHEC runs a full-fledged youth program. This year, we are excited to be “sharing” the speakers from the adult program with our youth. These speakers have a passion for young people and a unique perspective into the world of homeschooled youth. Their messages are challenging and inspiring!! The Youth Program is open to grades 7 – 12 students, approximately ages 12 – 17. Older youth are welcome to join as well. The group will be bussed to a church approximately 5 minutes’ drive from the convention location, where they will remain together for all activities and will be fully supervised.

Morning David challenges young people to seek God’s heart for their future rather than simply living by the default settings of cultural expectations. |

Afternoon Too many of us live every day just going through the motions, not really thinking about what we do, just doing what we have to do. Rven as Christians, we work to do good and not sin, but we avoid challenging ourselves hoping we are good enough, not resting in God’s grace or peace. In this presentation Rachael discusses 4 ways we can live every day that will not only change our lives but the lives of those around us and even the world! |

Morning From one guinea pig to another, this session is about those common experiences home educated students can relate to. Homeschooled on his family’s goat farm along with his six younger siblings, Paul went on to attend UWO and ultimately law school. Join him as he shares his journey and offers a few words of advice. |

Afternoon An exciting and interactive workshop for teens from master storyteller, and award-winning recording artist, Jim Weiss. King Arthur and his knights represent the epitome of chivalry, graciousness and simply put, “doing what’s right.” Jim will focus on this content as he teaches the art of storytelling and oral language. Participants will learn about: setting the scene, characterization, voice technique, shaping the story, building confidence and developing ones own style. The tenor is casual and the goal is to have fun with literature. Everyone should be prepared to play, laugh and discover how literature can truly come alive in the midst of a storyteller. |

Of course, the youth program is more than just talk! With Pastor Daniel Knorr in charge, there’s bound to be plenty of:
- chapel time
- worship
- making new friends (or connecting with old ones!)
- games
- food (lunch is included in the youth registration fee)
- fun!!
Pastor Daniel Knorr is the pastor of student ministries for Kelowna Christian Center and Heritage Christian Schools. His job as pastor of student ministries includes running and overseeing a full time youth program for the church, chapel times for both schools, counseling students, teaching occasional Bible classes, overseeing the school forums, and pastoral duties required at the church. Pastor Daniel has directed the BC CHEC Youth program since its inception in 2006.
The first 15 youth to register for the youth program will receive a free CD produced by Focus on the Family: Josh Harris: To Date or Not to Date.
