The BC Christian Home Educators’ Convention is an event that brings together homeschooling families with resource-providers, speakers, and supportive networking options for two days of inspiration, encouragement and challenge. Offering stimulating programs for all ages, BC CHEC endeavours to glorify God while meeting the unique needs of parents and children who are on this exciting journey called homeschooling.

Michael and Marnie Goheen!


Michael and Marnie Goheen Michael and Marnie home educated their four children from kindergarten through high school and eagerly look forward to being involved in the home education of their grandchildren. The Goheens have spoken on home education in at least six different countries and look forward to sharing their vision with you! Michael is currently the Geneva Professor of Worldview and Religious Studies at Trinity Western University, Langley, B.C. and Teaching Fellow in Mission Studies at Regent College, Vancouver.

Michael GoheenMichael Goheen (Ph.D. Utrecht University) is the Geneva Professor of Worldview and Religious Studies at Trinity Western University, Langley, B.C. and Teaching Fellow in Mission Studies at Regent College, Vancouver. He is (co)author or (co)editor of six books on biblical theology, worldview, and mission. He was involved in home-educating his four children and hopes to be involved also with his grandchildren.




Michael GoheenMarnie Goheen has home-educated her four children from kindergarten through the end of high school. All went on to university and two have continued onto graduate degrees up to the Ph.D. level. During that time she started several home-education parental co-op groups as well as an orchestra and choir. She has spoke on home-education issues in Canada, Australia, and England. She has been married to Mike for 33 years, and together they have four married children, and four grandchildren. She looks forward to participating in the home-education of her growing brood of grandchildren.
